Tracing people

Useful information when trying to trace family members or friends

If you are trying to trace a family member or friend you may find that a good place to start is the local electoral register. These contain the names and addresses of people living in an area, who are over the age of 18 and who have registered to vote.

Telephone directories are another useful source of information. Most large town or city libraries will stock directories for all parts of the United Kingdom.
